Florida Baptist Children's Home

• Group Home Renovation

• This long-standing children's and youth ministry has a campus with several group homes that they are planning to expand and renovate to provide private apartments for the house parents.  This project is the first in a series of renovations to be accomplished over the coming years.

A Women's Pregnancy Center

• Renovation and Addition
• Tallahassee, Florida
• This crisis pregnancy center purchased a duplex near the FSU campus to serve college students, but the building had to be renovated and expanded to meet the ministry's needs.  They had already obtained preliminary drawings from another architect, but needed us to complete the design and the construction drawings, allowing them to keep on schedule and more fully utilize their construction volunteers.

St. Margaret's Catholic Church

• Several schematic studies were prepared for renovating the existing sanctuary and expanding the altar area and lobby.  Layouts for an exterior garden were also provided. (Photo of existing facility).

Pavo Baptist Church

• Miscellaneous Consultation
• Pavo, Georgia
• We provided miscellaneous consultation services for discussions concerning existing sanctuary and education space expansion, and cost estimating the coordination of asbestos testing for the existing building. (Photo of existing facility)

Emmanuel Seventh Day Adventist Church

• Fellowship Hall Interior Build-Out
• Marianna, Florida
• The church called when they encounteredifficulties with the county building officials about their existing structure (a storage building they had recently purchased and were using as an assembly space).  After determing the building's inadequacies, we provided drawings to renovate and correct the situation.

Capitol City Preparatory School

• Fire Code Corrections
• Tallahassee, Florida
• The school had been notified that they would be shut down at the end of the week because of violations of the fire code.  When contacted, I scrambled to work with the Fire Marshal's Office and provide schematic design for the fire code corrections in time to keep the school up and running.  We've as much stake in the success of a project as each client does.

Crosspoint Baptist Fellowship

• Classroom Additions Study
• Perry, Florida
• The church completed their fellowship hall three years ago, leaving a covered slab area in anticipation of enclosing the space for additional classrooms.  This second-phase project, which is in schematic design, must also include provision for the possibility of using the space as part of a future Christian school.

Cornerstone Baptist Church

• New Sanctuary Study
• Tallahassee, Florida
• This very small church family was meeting in temporary quarters and wanted several schematic studies for a new 100-seat sanctuary.

Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church

• Fellowship Hall
• Tallahassee, Florida
• This small church needed a new 48-seat fellowship hall next to the church's existing facility.  Design and Construction Documents were provided with sufficient detail to allow the church to build with volunteer labor.

Abundant Life and Restoration Ministries

• While their new sanctuary was in the planning stages, the church considered temporary relocation to an abandoned Winn Dixie.  Several layouts were developed to convert the building into an 800-seat sanctuary.

Faith Heritage Church

• Sanctuary and Education Expansion Study
• Quincy, Florida
• The church was looking to increase capacity, although they were land-locked on a very restricted site.  We provided schematic studies and investigated several layouts to increase the sanctuary and education capacity of the existing facility.

Pine Grove Baptist Church

• Lobby Expansion Study
• Madison, Florida
• This church sat very close to an existing highway and wanted to modify the entry to make it safer and reduce the noise level in the sanctuary.  We looked at several layouts for a new entry and lobby and for reconfiguring the sanctuary.

New Life Church of the Nazarene

• New Church Complex Study
• Tallahassee, Florida
• A salesman had sold the church a metal building, and they asked me to do the interior layouts for the new 12,000 sf sanctuary, fellowship hall and education space.  The church was ready to tear down their existing facility in anticipation of beginning immediate work on the new building until I warned them (just in the nick of time) of the months of permitting still ahead of them.

Open Hearts

• House and Orphanage
• Managua, Nicaragua
• Open Hearts is an independent missionary work located in Managua, Nicaragua.  Their future plans include providing a small orphanage for some of the children they are hoping to help.  We provided preliminary design of a 12-bed house and orphanage, as well as presentation drawings to be used in fund-raising.

First Assembly of God

• Fellowship Hall Conversion Study
• Perry, Florida
• This project encompassed the schematic design for enclosing and converting an existing pavilion into an 80-seat fellowship hall with kitchen facilities.

First United Methodist Church

• Facility Expansion Study
• Monticello, Florida
• Schematic studies were done to provide a number of options for increasing capacity inside the church's historic downtown building.  Several layouts for a freestanding multi-use building on an adjacent property were also prepared.

Parkway Baptist Church 

• New Child Care Center and Education Renovation
• Tallahassee, Florida
• Demographic changes found this established congregation underutilizing portions of two buildings.  With a wish to reach young neighborhood families, the church decided to convert the space into a nursery and future licensed day care center.  Design and construction had to comply with the stringent child care facility requirements as well as optimize space for maximum capacity.

Greater Love Church of God in Christ

• When the church first contacted me, I was told that a road expansion would require the removal of the existing porch and entry in two weeks.  I quickly met with the church and city officials and we were able to complete the drawings, permitting and construction before the deadline.  Phase 2 of the project, the expansion of their fellowship hall, is proceeding at a more leisurely pace.

Christ Gospel Church

• The church wanted to build a new 150-seat fellowship hall that would also contain a community food and clothes bank and youth recreation center.  Schematic layouts were developed for the new facility incorporating a large enclosed courtyard space.
